"My return went through, but I had to wait longer than I wanted"
I returned my SodaStream order and I did get my refund in the end, so that part was fine. But i expected the whole thing to move a little faster. I had to sit around waiting for updates, and at first I wasn’t totally sure what was happening with my return. Customer service did get back to me eventually, which helped, but I would’ve liked clearer communication from the start. It wasn’t a terrible experience, just more of a hassle than I wanted it to be...

"I signed up for the gas..."
I signed up for the gas refill subscription thinking it would make life easier, but nope — welcome to the "Convenience Club" where the charges show up right on time and the deliveries apparently take a vacation. A couple were late, one seemed to vanish into the "Where Did It Go Department," and canceling was its own little obstacle course. For me, it just wasn’t worth the headache.

"Keeps leaking and the promises felt vague"
I bought this a few months ago, and now it leaks around the bottle area pretty much every time I use it. I’ve tried tightening it, adjusting the bottle, and checking the seal, but I still end up with water all over the counter. It carbonates fine, I guess, but the whole “easy, mess-free” kind of promise feels vague when I’m wiping up puddles after every use

"I had to reach out to SodaStream support..."
I had to reach out to SodaStream support because one item was missing from my order. They got back to me the next day and asked for a photo of the box, which I understood, but I kind of regret not checking everything right away because it turned into an extra hassle.

Once I sent the picture, they sorted it out quickly and shipped the missing piece. It wasn’t a perfect experience, and I wish it hadn’t happened in the first place, but the support team was polite and did help in the end.

"They made it seem like cleaning this..."
They made it seem like cleaning this would be quick and simple, but that really hasn’t been my experience. It’s annoying to clean, and I feel like the promise didn’t match the reality at all.

"Why did the flavor taste so off?"
I tried two different syrups, both tasted kind of flat and fake. I was expecting something with more flavor, but what can you do when they both miss the mark?

"Pretty easy setup, just one little issue"
Setup was simple and only took me about 10 minutes. The only thing was the gas cylinder felt a bit stiff when I was trying to lock it in at first, not sure if that’s normal or if I was just being too cautious? The instructions were clear though, and once I got past that, everything worked fine.

"Way Louder Than I Was Ready For"
I thought getting a SodaStream would be this cute little life upgrade, like quick fizzy water whenever I wanted. Instead, the first time I used it, I swear my soul left my body for a second because the noise was SO much louder than I expected.
Every press makes this intense buzzing and hissing sound, and my poor dog acts like the apocalypse has arrived. Everyone in the kitchen immediately turns around like I’ve just started operating heavy machinery on the counter. I know it has to carbonate the water, but wow, this is not what I’d call normal appliance noise.
Now I barely even use it because it’s just too annoying, especially at night when the house is quiet and it feels like I’m launching a rocket. I really wanted to love it, but I’m disappointed.

"I thought I’d be saving more, but..."
I thought I’d be saving more, but the refills and flavors add up quickly. It’s not a bad product, just not the money-saver I was hoping for!

"Didn’t hold up as well as I hoped"
I was disappointed with this bottle. It started getting cloudy and scratched up a lot faster than I expected, even with normal use. I really thought it would last longer, but i wouldn’t buy it again

"Super Easy CO2 Swap"
I sent back my empty cylinders and got the new ones without any real hassle. It did take a few days longer than I expected, but the whole process was smooth and easy. Happy to have fresh cylinders ready to go again!

"Packaging seemed really solid"
The box showed up in good shape, and everything inside was packed really tight. I didn’t see any leaks or dents, so I’m guessing they did a good job with the packaging, right? Overall, I’m happy with how it arrived.

"Bottle fit was a little confusing..."
I actually like the machine overall, but the bottle situation was kind of annoying. I had some older bottles and assumed they’d work with the newer model... but nope, they don’t fit. I wish the site made that a lot clearer before checkout. It wasn’t a horrible experience or anything, just a bit frustrating and ended up costing me extra money I wasn’t planning to spend

"Warranty help ended up being solid"
My SodaStream started having an issue after a few months, so I reached out to the warranty team. It took a couple days before I heard anything back, which was a little annoying, but once they got to it, they were actually helpful. They sent me the replacement part I needed, and it was fixed without too much back-and-forth.

"Shipping was really slow"
My order ended up taking way longer to ship than I thought it would. I also didn’t really get many updates, so I kept checking my email and the tracking info almost every day.

The product was fine once it finally showed up, but the wait was annoying. If the shipping had been faster, I’d probably rate it higher, but that part was really disappointing

"Not quite the space saver I expected"
I bought this because I thought it was going to help clear up some counter space, but it still feels bulky in my small kitchen. And it’s not just the machine itself — the bottle and gas canister need somewhere to go too, so it kind of adds up.

I actually ended up rearranging more stuff than I expected just to make it work. Kind of annoying, to be honest. It might be fine if you have a bigger kitchen, but for me, it wasn’t really worth it.

"Doesn’t feel as eco-friendly as advertised"
I bought a SodaStream because I was trying to make a more responsible choice and cut down on waste at home. I really wanted to feel good about using it, but it doesn’t feel nearly as green as the marketing makes it seem.

The CO2 exchanges still involve shipping things back and forth, and there’s still plastic packaging and plastic parts involved. The bottles also don’t last forever, so you eventually have to replace them, which feels like it goes against the whole point of reducing waste.

Maybe it’s still better than constantly buying cans or bottles, I’m not sure. But I don’t think it’s fair to present it like some perfect eco solution when there are still plenty of environmental trade-offs. That part feels misleading to me, and it left a bad taste.
